Now, we’ve all heard about how Sodom and Gomorrah
Were wiped from the earth one terrible mornin’
‘Cause they never would do what was right in the sight of the Lord,
But just take a look around you at the terrible way,
Folks’re livin’ like they did in the Sodomites’ day
And we’d better straighten up or we’ll share in their reward!

We gotta paint this country red with the Blood of Jesus,
The Blood that Jesus shed for you and me,
We got a Holy Ghost Revival for a paintbrush,
Paintin’ out salvation, faith and victory!

Now, listen up, children, to the story I’ll tell,
About Tyre and Sidon, and the way that they fell,
‘Cause God couldn’t take no more o’ their wicked ways,
So, he said unto Isaiah, “go up and tell ’em all
That the axe has been laid, and the tree is gonna fall!”
And He’s getting’ set to do it all again, right here today!

Well, God, told Jonah, ” Go to the Ninevites,
And tell ’em I’m a’comin’ and it’s gonna be a sight,
“Cause I’m gonna tear ’em down like they never was there at all!”
Ol’ Jonah, he complained, but then he did it anyway,
And we oughta take a lesson, ’cause it happened that day,
Everybody there repented and the city didn’t have to fall!

Well, I’m a’lookin’ all around at what’s a’goin’ on,
With the crime and the drugs, people livin’ all wrong,
And everybody seems to have the idea that God don’t care,
But like Sodom and Gomorrah, our day’s a’comin’ round,
Like Tyre and Sidon, we can be cut down,
And the only way to save us is to fall to our knees in prayer!
