God’s Gonna Rock The House

Well, all of the temple bigshots were gathered at Jerusalem
To figure out what to do about Peter and John
When Peter, filled with the Holy Ghost, said “Hey, you rulers of Israel,
You do what you want, but we’re gonna keep Preachin’ On!”
So they tried intimidation, and they ordered them not to preach,
But Peter and John had a fire they couldn’t put out!
They put their trust in God, above, and cried “Lord, Lord, won’t you hear our prayer!”
And, when they prayed, God Rocked the House!

Well, when the power of prayer takes hold, God’ll rock the house,
All the walls’ll shake when the Spirit of God pours out!
So, when you get down on your knees, to pray with all’o’ your heart,
You better hold on tight, ’cause God’s gonna rock the house!

Well, when Paul and Silas were goin’ to teach at Philippi
There was a girl with an evil spirit there that day,
So, Paul said, “Spirit, in Jesus’s name, you get out, you leave the girl alone!”
But some grew angry when the spirit was cast away!
So, Paul and Silas were beaten, and then they were thrown in jail
And at midnight, they began to sing and shout!
And while they yet were praising God, the prison began to tremble,
And all the doors flew open, when God rocked the house!

So, when life sets out to get you, and the world starts a’closin’ in,
And it starts to feel like there just ain’t no way out,
You just remember what a prayer can do, to open up the doors,
Then get ready to Roll, ‘Cause God’s gonna rock the house!
