What do you think this child will do when he is finally grown,

Do you think that he’ll be famous, do you think he’ll be well known,

The Masters tried to trip him up but he stood his ground alone,

What do you think this child will do when he is grown?

Have you heard, a boy of twelve is sitting in the temple,

Answering more questions there than any rabbi can,

He’s teaching all about the way it works in Heaven’s kingdom,

He’s speaking of the future and about God’s master plan,

And what do you think this child will do when he is finally grown,

Do you think that he’ll be famous, do you think he’ll be well known,

The day had passed before his parents noticed he was missing,

And turned back to Jerusalem to find him once again,

“But I must do, the things my Father sent me to accomplish,”

He said, “you should have simply known that this is where I’ve been.”
